14th Freshers’ Day 2025

Unity College of Teacher Education, Dimapur, Nagaland, celebrated its 14th Fresher’s Day on 30th August 2025 at the College Lawn. The event, held under the theme “Odyssey: A New Journey of Becoming Educators”, was organized to welcome the new batch of B.Ed. 1st Semester student teachers in the college. The programme was led by Shikna M, a student teacher from B.Ed 3rd Semester. The celebration began with an invocation by Dr. Keneivi Rhatsu, Assistant Professor, Unity College of Teacher Education. This was followed by a welcome note delivered by Dr. Akala Longkumer, Principal of Unity College of Teacher Education. After this, a special song was presented by the student teachers of B.Ed. 3rd Semester. The highlight of the day was the exchange of words between seniors and freshers. Shuiyan Yannahu of B.Ed 3rd Semester delivered a speech on behalf of the seniors, assuring guidance and support to the newcomers. Thereafter, Ilo Ayemi from B.Ed 1st Semester, spoke on behalf of the freshers, expressing gratitude and excitement about beginning their educational journey at the college. An inspiring exhortation was delivered by the special guest, Ms. Vilika T. Yepthomi Sema, Principal of Honili Memorial Higher Secondary School, Dimapur. The programme continued with a soulful performance titled “Tell Your Heart to Beat Again” by Khumchoba, B.Ed. 3rd Semester. The formal session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by T. Thinglila, B.Ed 3rd Semester, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty, seniors, and freshers for making the day memorable.

Following the formal programme, an informal session was organized, which was hosted by Kholi Sayini and Meilem M of B.Ed 3rd Semester. The session was filled with several dance performances, and three rounds of Mr. and Miss Fresher, where Mr. Muwapila. T and Miss. G. Pukivi Swu were crowned as Mr and Miss Fresher of UCTE, 2025. The programme gave an opportunity to both the seniors and the freshers to bond and showcase their talents. The day ended with a grand feast, symbolizing the spirit of togetherness. Overall, the 14th Fresher’s Day at Unity College of Teacher Education was a success, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the B.Ed batch of 2025-27 student teachers.
