The Mentor-Mentee cell of the Department of Teacher Education, Unity College was created in the year 2021.
Some of the objectives are:-
- To ensure student-teachers receive the care, guidance and support necessary to extend their personal development and academic progress.
- To improve student-teachers interpersonal relationship such as with the institute administrative staff, teaching faculties and supporting staff.
- To enhance greater self-esteem in student-teachers and be motivated to succeed.
Mentor-Mentee Report
2nd September 2023:
A mentor mentee session was held on 2nd September, 2023. This session mainly comprised of having a one-on-one meeting between the mentor and mentee. This was to unable the mentors to get acquainted with their mentees, to build a rapport and set in motion a journey of co-operation and collaboration for mentoring the student-teachers.
3rd February 2024:
On 3rd February 2024, Mentor-Mentee session was held to review, analysis and investigate the academic performance of respective mentee during the mid-term and pre-semester examination.
This session also focused on counselling and mentoring individual student to enable them to work on bettering their academic performance in the future.
21 st Sept, 2024.
The first mentor-mentee session of the semester was held in 21 st Sept, 2024. Respective students
with their assigned mentors gathered in different rooms allotted to them.
Since it was a premier gathering for the 1 st semesters, invariably all the groups has an
introductory session so that the 1 st and 3 rd semester students got acquainted with each other.
In many groups the mentors asked the 1 st semester to share their feeling, fears and experiences &
difficulties they face presently. The 3 rd semester students in turn shared their accounts of how
they navigated through and encouraged the juniors on how to overcome obstacles.
In some of the groups the mentors also shared words of encouragement and assurance of
faculties’ total support and assistance when and where needed.
Discussions on prospects for 3rd semester on overall betterment of result also took place.

Mentor-Mentee Report
16th November, 2024
A Mentor–Mentee session was conducted for 1st and 3rd Semester student-teachers to review
their attendance and provide academic guidance and encouragement before the semester
examinations. The session focused on tracking students’ academic performance, identifying
the challenges faced by the mentees, and offering appropriate guidance and resources to help
them improve their learning outcomes.
14th February, 2025
A Mentor–Mentee session was held for 2nd and 4th Semester student-teachers to review,
analyse, and assess their academic performance in the mid-term and pre-semester
examinations. Mentors identified the academic difficulties faced by the mentees and guided
them in preparing effective study plans and improving time management skills. Career
counselling was also provided to the 4th Semester student-teachers.
10th July, 2025
A Mentor–Mentee meeting was conducted for 2nd Semester student-teachers to understand the
academic challenges they were facing in their courses and to provide guidance before the
semester examinations. Mentors offered necessary resources, discussed individual concerns,
and helped the mentees prepare action plans for academic improvement.
21st August, 2025
The first Mentor–Mentee session for the Batch of 2025–2027 was conducted on 21st August 2025. Student-teachers met with their respective mentors in the rooms allotted to them. The
session focused on orienting the mentees about the objectives and importance of the
Mentor–Mentee programme, providing necessary guidelines, and building a positive rapport
between mentors and mentees.
7th November, 2025
A Mentor–Mentee meeting was organised for 1st and 3rd Semester student-teachers to address
academic concerns and guide them in their preparation for the upcoming semester
examinations. Mentors provided academic support and encouraged the mentees to adopt
effective study strategies.
19th February, 2026
A Mentor–Mentee session was held for 2nd and 4th Semester student-teachers to review,
analyse, and evaluate their performance in the mid-term and pre-semester examinations. The
session also included individual counselling and academic mentoring to help students
improve their future academic performance. In addition, mentors provided career guidance
and motivated the 4th Semester student-teachers to pursue higher studies and prepare for
competitive examinations.
9th July, 2026
A Mentor–Mentee meeting was conducted for 3rd Semester student-teachers to provide
feedback on their performance in the mid-term and pre-semester examinations. Mentors
discussed areas for improvement, guided the mentees in their preparation for the semester
examinations, and provided career counselling and academic advice.
2nd September, 2026
The first Mentor–Mentee session for the Batch of 2026–2028 was conducted on 2nd
September 2026. Student-teachers met individually with their respective mentors in the
allotted rooms. The session primarily focused on one-on-one interaction to establish a strong
mentor–mentee relationship. Mentees were provided with personal information forms to
complete, enabling mentors to understand their academic and personal backgrounds. The
session marked the beginning of a collaborative mentoring journey aimed at supporting the
overall academic, personal, and professional development of the student-teachers.
