Established in the year 2012 by Amity Welfare Society, the Department of Teacher Education, Unity College has been encouraging and fostering quality education where students will become not only productive but pro active responsible citizens of tomorrow. 

The Department enshrines in its vision the ideal of imparting quality higher education adhering not only to national but also international standards. Trough effective implementation of the curriculum laid down by the Nagaland University, the student-teachers would be empowered with an education that hones life’s skills and employability and at the same time foster an enduring sense of discipline and single minded dedication to work.

The mission of the college is to have programs that ensure the all round development of its student teachers. The goal in view is an education that transforms young student teachers and equips them to be self-reliant; face challenges in their personal and professional lives: inculcate a value system and help in the quest for excellence, etc. The college endeavors to maintain a learning atmosphere that reinforces the ideals of professional competence and social commitment.

The college offers Two Years regular course in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.). The Department of Teacher Education, Unity College is recognized by the Government of Nagaland and is affiliated to Nagaland University. The College is recognised by the by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), New Delhi. Unity College is located in a spacious and serene environment conducive for learning at Residency Colony, PWD Area, Dimapur, Nagaland.
