The Eligibility conditions for admissions to the B.Ed course is as per the new guidelines and norms laid down by the NCTE, New Delhi. The guidelines are as follows:
- Candidates applying for admission to the programme must be graduates from any recognized University in India.
- The candidates with at least 50% marks either in the bachelor’s degree or in the master’s degree or any other qualification equivalent there to, are eligible for admission to the programme.
- There shall be relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
(45% for SC/ST/PWD and other reserved categories as per the laws of Nagaland Government) - Candidates having Engineering and Technology degrees with 55% or equivalent grade and have studied Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as a special paper are also eligible for the course in Mathematics / Science pedagogy.
- Final semester candidates are also eligible to apply for the course but admission will be given only when they will produce the final mark sheet of UG with the above- mentioned required percentage at the time of counseling.
- Candidates having less than 50 %( For SC/ST/PWD, 45%) or equivalent grade at Graduation level will also be eligible if they have 50% marks or equivalent grade for Post-Graduation degree or any other equivalent degree recognized by UGC.
- Rounding off of 44.5-44.9 to 45 % or 49.5-49.9 to 50 % or 54.5 to 54.9 will not be accepted. The candidates must have secured a complete 45% or 50 % or 55 %( minimum criterion) or more than that for applying.
- The course of study at the degree level must cover one school teaching subject (major one) and one school teaching subject (minor one other than major one).
- Original Migration Certificates from their respective Universities must be produced at the time of admission.
