The Orientation Programme for the newly admitted B.Ed. 1st Semester student teachers of
Unity College of Teacher Education, Dimapur, was held on 11th August, 2025 in the Seminar
Hall. The programme began with an invocation by Mr. Uto Chishi, Assistant Professor,
followed by a warm welcome address by the Principal, Dr. Akala Longkumer. A special
song by Irangle and Shuiyan, student teachers of 3rd semester added a melodious touch to the
occasion. A short video showing the overview of the college was presented, after which Mr.
Sehochem, student-teacher of 3rd Semester shared his enriching student experience. Ms.
Ashumi Kikon, Principal of Eden Higher Secondary School, delivered an exhortation,
inspiring the new batch to embrace their journey as future educators. The formal session
concluded with a vote of thanks. After a short break, the Technical Session commenced,
covering essential aspects of college life. Dr. Akala Longkumer spoke on the Management
of UCTE, Dr. Kotra Balayogi on Academics, Ms. Wapangkumla on Library facilities, Ms.
Keneivi Rhatsu on Clubs and Cells, and Ms. Paulina Whourie on Discipline. The
programme successfully fostered a welcoming atmosphere, ensuring the new batch of
student teachers felt a sense of belonging and readiness for the academic journey ahead.
