REPORT ON EXCURSION (BATCH OF 2023-2025)

The Excursion/Educational Tour for UCTE, Batch of 2023-2025 was observed between 19th to 26th June, 2025. After a lot of observations and calculations of different situations and budget accessibility, Meghalaya and Guwahati was finally decided as the place for excursion. A number of 13 students along with 2 faculties (Ma’am Paulina and Ma’am Aton) were enrolled for the excursion.

On 19th June at 10:20 PM, altogether 15 of us set on the train to Shillong via Guwahati. The train journey to Guwahati was a good experience. On 20th morning we were picked from Guwahati Railway station by the bus we booked prior hand, to drop us at Shillong. On the same day itself, after we reached Shillong, we washed up, got ourselves ready and set out to explore Shillong (local tour), however due to time constraint we could only visit Wards Lake and Elephant falls on the particular day. The overall experience on the first day was thrilling, tiring, as well as filled with excitement of what’s next.
On 21st June, we moved out at 8am from Shillong to Sohra, which is also called Cherrapunjee. Sohra was freezing cold with drizzles of rain drops. Sohra was adventurous. We visited two or three caves, which was thrilling as well as exciting. Along the way, we also visited many waterfalls such as Seven Sister falls, Lyngksiar falls, Mawsawa falls, and Prut falls. To witness the beauty of nature was enthralling. After all the good experiences we set back to Shillong. While on our way back we experienced a wholesome dinner of local cuisine. It was something new and delicious.

Initially on 22nd June, the plan was for Dawki, however due to landslides and unfavorable weather condition, we then planned for Krangsuri. Krangsuri was another thrilling and phenomenal experience. Some few student- teachers experienced zip lining which was later told to be a fun experience but thrilling and scary somehow. We then moved to the main spot of Krangsuri, where everyone experienced swimming. Everyone was with their life jackets. The experience of being inside the natural swimming pool and relaxing was one of the best experiences so far. It made the trip worthy as well as meaningful. Afterwhich we returned back to our rest house safely.

On 23rd June, we explored the market of Shillong. All of us shopped to local crafts for gifting and many other local products to take back home. On the same evening, we also experienced the street foods of Shillong.

On 24th June, we packed our luggage’s and set towards Guwahati, which was our next location. However, we decided to experience Accoland before settling down in our guest house. Accoland was more like a water park, which was fun and thrilling. Then with all the good packed memories, we moved towards our guest house and called the day off.

On 25th June, according to our itinerary, we firstly explored fancy bazaar, which was a shopping hub for clothes, bags, and shoes. Then later in the evening, all of us dressed up for the cruise. The cruise experience was short but magnificent. The food with a view of sunset was exceptionally mesmerizing. After which we set off to malls for a good experience. We scattered ourselves around the mall for a good shopping experience and buy our needful. After all the shopping’s were done, we set back to our guest house, had our dinner and settled down for a good sound sleep.

On 26th June, which was our last day for excursion, the excursion group gathered for the last time, and shared experiences about the trip. Later in the afternoon, we carried our fully packed luggage’s and left for our train to Dimapur which was at 2:40pm. On the same day itself around 8pm, we reach Dimapur and dispersed to our respective homes.
