Cultural Day 2026

On 14th February 2026 at College Lawn, Unity College observed Cultural Day. Unity College,
B.Ed Department which was formerly known as Unity College of Teacher Education
participated and celebrated the cultural diversity as a sign of unity fulfilling the purpose of
its nomenclature. The theme of the program was “Cultural Resonance”. The program
started at 09:00 AM with Kohli Sayini from B.Ed 4th semester Student-Teacher and
Sentimongba Jamir, B.A. 4th semester as the host of the program.
The order of the program started with College Pledge along with invocation by L.
Changsan, Asst. Prof, Dept. of Political Science, which was followed by welcome address
from Dr. Lichumo Enie, Principal of Unity College. The first presentation of cultural unity was
presented through war cry by Aliti Chishi, B.A. 6th semester, Kossam C Konyak, B.A. 6th
semester, Nokhozo Puro, B.com 2nd semester followed by skit on Naga Identity was
performed by PG students along with a beautiful Sangtam Folk Dance “Holo Hi Holo” was
performed by B.Ed Student-Teachers. Tenyimia folk song was performed by B.A. students
which was further submerged by folklore of Lotha Tribe “Rampham Motsu”. The beauty of
everyday domestic activity was demonstrated by B.Ed Student-Teachers through the
different practice of winnowing. The performance was further followed by Konyak folk
dance which kept the audience surprised, Display of fire making, Punjabi folk dance, Ao folk
song, Arunachal folk song, were performed beautifully by the B.A. students. To conclude the
program, vote of thanks was spoken by Lamvilla Sangtam, Cultural Secy., UCSC. The
program ended with a refreshment for all further nourishing the cultural presence in every
individual.
