On 8th of May 2026, the Department of Teacher Education, Unity College,
Dimapur, conducted a program on Drama and Art exhibition in collaboration
with Women Cell for the purpose of Enhancing Professional Competencies
under the theme “Beauty of Drama and Art: Where Logic Ends”, in the college
premises. Drama and Art exhibition under the supervision of Mr. V. Uto Chishi
and Mr. Akup Buchemhu ,Asst. Professors , was a master piece stroke from the
2nd semester Department. The purpose of the program was to enhance the
ability of the students to express thoughts, emotions, intuitions, and desires
through Art work and develop and encourage imagination, self-expression
through drama.
The program was chaired by Ms. Neikerheno Secu, Asst. Professor, followed
by a reflection from Chubarenla, 2nd semester on “Drama as the Beauty of
strength”. After which there was the first Act play on “Back to Roots” which
was followed by two short performance – “Theatre of Cruelty” and a Flash
Mob. The second Act was on “Savitri Bai” an act on empowering women. A
word of reflection was further shared by Benito L Shohe, 2nd semester on “Art
the Power of Unlocking Imagination”. The program ended with the most
empowering and reflective Act, “Ghar Bakri Toofan” which has left the
audience to reflect on the purpose of life.
