Unity College of Teacher Education celebrated Cultural Day cum Food Fest on 6th May, 2025 on the
theme: “Blending Culture” with Shri. Veswuzo Phesao Retd. Deputy Director (Project), NEZCC as the
Special Guest. The program was hosted by Ms. Angel Konyak ( B.Ed 4th Semester) and started with
a prayer by Mrs. Paulina Whuorie (Assistant Professor, UCTE). A drama entitled “Sumi and the
Dance of the Dark Spirits” which is based on Sumi Naga folklore written by Ms. Toinali Sema, Ph.D
Scholar was performed by Drama and Fine Art Club. The drama was designed and guided by Mr. V.
Uto Chishi, Founder Chairman & Director of Zoe Theatre and Art Association. The exhortation was
delivered by Special Guest Shri. Veswuzo Phesao, Retd. Deputy Director (Project), NEZCC, and he
presented a Chakhesang folk song. Blending of Culture, a cultural show was showcased by UCTE
Student-Teachers, Ukrüzho küve küye süto khe, a Chakhesang folk song was presented by B.Ed
2nd Semester and a cultural Dance by B.Ed 4th Semester, Words of Gratitude was pronounced by
Ms. W. Shanglih Konyak (B.Ed. 2nd Semester) followed by Benediction by Ms. Vetsolu Kezo (B.Ed 4th
Semester). The Cultural Day and Food Fest also organised competition on Traditional Chutney Making
and Salad Dressing. Ms. Nguagia Ekak of 4th Semester and Ms. Erenbeni Ezung of 4th Semester
were declared as winners respectively. The celebration was followed by a feast.
