On 1st of October Unity College of Teacher Education (UCTE) conducted a program to observe Swatch Bharat in the college premises at seminar Hall. The program was graced by the special guest, Mr. Thungchanbemo Tungoe, Chief Executive Officer, Dimapur Municipal Council, Nagaland. The program was chaired by Kinoli Yepthomi, 3rd semester followed by invocation from Nongam Konyak 1st semester with a welcome note from Dr. Akala Longkumer Principal, UCTE. A brief speech of swatch Bharat was delivered by Pinoli Kiba, 3rd semester on the theme “Cleanliness is Nature, Cleanliness is Culture”. The special guest of the program exhorted the students on cleanliness and the way to progress through a clean environment and how to innovatively instill the idea of cleanliness in the minds of the future generation. The program was gracefully wrapped up with a pledge from Ngaugia, 3rd semester and vote of thanks from W.Shanglih Konyak 1st semester.
A competition on Poetry, Essay, painting and Photography was also organized on account of this day and winners were facilitated with certificates and cash prize at the end of the program.
The observation of Swatch Bharat by UCTE was graciously concluded with a photo session and a luncheon at Conference Hall UCTE.
