On 12th August 2025, Unity College of Teacher Education had an interactive
session to explore and celebrate unique abilities with the theme “Amplifying
Abilities, Embracing Differences”, along with faculty and staff, Principal of UCTE
and students of 3rd semester B.Ed Batch 2024-2026.
The resource person for the interactive session was Mr. Mesenipong pongen
(Apong), the Managing Director of 7 Heven Dimapur. The session was led
gracefully by Ms. Meribeni Patton of 3rd semester B.Ed course, followed by a
prayer from Ms. Bilgah T invocating God’s Presence. Dr Akhala Longkumer,
Principal of UCTE Dimapur warmly welcomed the resource person and his
family for enlightening the students with their presence. A special song was
presented by Ms. Sungmonoksen B Chang with a heartfelt melody. After which
the resource person Mr. Mesenipong Pongen, shared his experience living with
Cerebral Palsy. Towards the end of the interactive session he had urged
everyone to never give up no matter how slow progress may be and never to
stop and keep moving forward. He encouraged the Student Teachers to make a
difference, to accept uniqueness of every student and teach the students the
way they learn. Lastly, words of gratitude was shared by Ms. Madulika Kumari.
The beautiful session has left the UCTE family, amazed, encouraged, blessed,
challenged, and most of all with new realization to ponder upon in future.
