The B.Ed 1st semester student-teachers of Unity College of Teacher Education, Dimapur visited Silas Care Centre, Nahorjan, Karbi Anglong on 6th November, 2025 as part of their community outreach activity. The purpose of the visit is to enhance their knowledge on the functioning of the centre concerning the welfare of the rehabilitated people.
Upon arrival, the group was warmly welcomed by the Director of the Centre, Mrs. Moarenla Amer.
A short programme was held to mark the occasion. The event was chaired by Menangchiba L. Pongen, with an invocation by Khahwan Konyak, Bible reading by Benito, testimony by Mhonbemo Ezung, a special number presented by Imnangangshi Ozukum and Hangming Shiu, vote of thanks by V. Uto Chishi, and benediction by Orenponi Lotha.
Following the programme, a lively game session was conducted, during which the residents enthusiastically participated. Gifts were presented to the winners, bringing smiles and laughter all around. The visit concluded with a group photo session and warm farewells.
The day proved to be a heartwarming and enriching experience for the students, reminding them of the joy found in sharing time, compassion, and kindness with others.
