The Department of Teacher Education, Unity College, celebrated Teachers’ Day on Friday, 4th September 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Seminar Hall, under the theme “Honouring the Light That Leads Us.” The event was led by G. Pukivi Swu and Machiyile Nhai, B.Ed. 3rd Semester students.
The programme commenced with an invocation by Jinenle Kath of B.Ed. 3rd Semester, followed by a speech on behalf of the faculty delivered by Dr. Aditya Prakash, Assistant Professor, Department of Teacher Education.
The celebration was further enriched by cultural performance where Dharitri Mohan of B.Ed. 1st Semester presented an Assamese dance, followed by a speech delivered by Talisunep from B.Ed. 3rd Semester.
As part of the programme, Imtisenla of B.Ed. 1st Semester presented a classical Bollywood dance. The programme also included recreational games, creating a joyful and lively atmosphere among the students and teachers.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Senmong A. Pongen of B.Ed. 1st Semester, expressing gratitude to the faculty members, organisers, participants, and everyone who contributed to the success of the event.
