On 30th May 2025, the Peace Education Department of UCTE organized a Poster Exhibition with the resources of Peace Counts, Peacebuilders around the world from Berghof Foundation, Germany, in the college campus at Reading Room, UCTE. The exhibition aimed to foster creative expression, provide a platform for meaningful engagement and raise awareness about the importance of peace. Student- Teacher and faculty members participated actively, making a resounding success.
It commenced at 10 a.m. till 11:10 a.m., resuming again from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The primary focus of the event was a poster exhibition showcasing creative and impactful visuals. Each poster depicted unique themes related to peace such as unity, diversity, non- violence, cooperation, reconciliation, empathy, and co existence. Visitors, including student-teachers and faculty, engaged with the presenters to explore the stories and ideas behind the posters. These interactions allowed participants to delve into the significance of peace and its relevance in today’s world.
The purpose of the workshop extended beyond showcasing posters. It aimed to educate and spread awareness by sharing global and local examples of peace builders and their efforts in promoting peace through education, dialogue, activism, non violence and cultural practices. It also encouraged participants to think critically about conflict, justice and peace while inspiring them to take action, whether through peace movements, volunteer activities or peace education programs.
The workshop left a significant impact on the presenters as well. It helped student- teachers internalize the importance of peace beyond theoretical knowledge. Presenting their work built their confidence, improved their public speaking and interpersonal skills, and have taught them the value of taking responsibility for educating others. Participating in the event made learning practical and meaningful, helping them connect theory to action.
In conclusion, the Peace Counts Workshop was a remarkable event that combined creativity and education to promote the values of peace and harmony. It offered participants a unique opportunity to explore the meaning of peace through compelling visuals and meaningful interactions. The event not only deepened their understanding of peace but also inspired them to take actions in their communities, making it a memorable and impactful experience for all involved.
